Anheuser-Busch Tops List of Beer Ad Spenders
 
Spending $269.5 million in advertising through the first three quarters of 2000, Anheuser-Busch was the top ad spender in the beer industry. Behind Anheuser-Busch, Adolph Coors Company ranked second, spending $163.6 million. As for the top spending brands, Budweiser Beer spent $112.6 million and Coors Light Beer spent $88.4 million.

Overall, the brewing sector saw an increase in ad spending from the first three quarters of 1999 ($589.7 million) to the same time period of 2000 ($697.1 million). The category increase of 18.2% was ahead of the overall advertising expenditure increase of 15.9%.
