Microsoft Corporation Tops List of Technology Ad Spending
 
Spending $316 million in advertising through the first three quarters of 2000, Microsoft Corporation continued to set the pace among all technology advertisers. Behind Microsoft Corp., IBM Corporation ranked second, spending $286.7 million. As for the top spending brands, MSN Internet Services spent $128.7 million and IBM E-Business Services spent $103.7 million.

Overall, technology showed tremendous growth from the first three quarters of 1999 ($1.51 billion) to the same time period of 2000 ($2.94 billion). The category increase of 94.7% far outpaced the overall advertising expenditure increase of 15.9%.
