YORK, January 21, 2004 -TNS Media Intelligence/CMR, the leading provider
of strategic advertising and marketing information, has announced
the appointment of Jonathan Swallen to vice president, research.
Mr. Swallen will lead the newly formed Research Group, responsible
for all methods and procedures for TNS Media Intelligence/CMR products,
as well as the forecasting and modeling for TNSMI/CMR's multi-media
information and services.

Mr. Swallen comes to TNSMI/CMR with more than 25 years experience
in the media research industry and is well known for his creative,
strategic and analytic approaches to the evaluation and assessment
of syndicated research methods. Prior to joining TNSMI/CMR, Mr.
Swallen held the title of Director of Media Knowledge at Universal
McCann. His career in the industry also included various media
research positions at Ogilvy & Mather and Grey Advertising.
A notable figure in the industry, Mr. Swallen served 15 years
on the 4A's Media Research committee, and has provided long-term
service to the Media Ratings Council. He is the author of numerous
papers published by the ARF; ESOMAR; and the Worldwide Readership
Symposium.
Mr. Swallen holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology from
Duke University.
